In an era of electric transport transformation, two sleek silhouettes glide into the spotlight: the Fuell Fllow and the Livewire S2. They may not roar like their gasoline-guzzling brethren, but they’re ready to leave them in the dust. And so, we pit these silent speedsters against each other, in a good-natured joust of specs and performance, where the only emissions are sparks of rivalry. And yes, we can already hear you cry “but the Liverwire costs 3 times the Fuell Fllow!”. To that we answer, “chicken?”.
The Need for Speed
The Fuell Fllow, a brainchild of Erik Buell, zooms into the fray boasting a top speed of 85 mph. This velocity might not ruffle the feathers of the autobahn aficionados, but it’s plenty for any urban speedster zipping between traffic lights. On the flip side, the Livewire S2, the e-knight of Harley Davidson, cruises with an impressive top speed of 110 mph. In a game of top trumps, speed-wise, the S2 would leave the Fllow eating its proverbially silent dust.
The Long Haul
When it comes to range, the Fllow outpaces its Harley Davidson counterpart. Able to cruise for 150 miles in the city on a single charge, the Fllow turns up its metaphorical nose at the S2, which can only manage 100 miles. It seems the S2 might need to make a pit stop at an e-charging station while the Fllow breezes by.
Charge into Battle
Speaking of charging, the Fllow takes a leisurely 30 minutes to achieve an 80% charge on a fast charger. Perfect time for a latte and a New York Times crossword at a nearby café. The S2, not wanting to be outdone, struts with a 40-minute charge time for 80% battery. Still speedy, but you might have to settle for your latte “to-go.”
The Cost of Cool
The Fuell Fllow rolls in at $10,495 for pre-orders with that rising to an expected $12,995. Whilst the Livewire S2, has dropped considerably from early listings and is currently $15,499.
So, which e-bike reins supreme? Well, that depends on your perspective. If you’re a speed demon the Livewire S2 will steal your heart. However, if you’re a city commuter with an eye for range and a little extra value, you might find yourself swiping right on the Fuell Fllow. Regardless, both bikes are leading the current charge.
